There are benefits even in the challenges. (1 Samuel 23:1-4)
Everyone will have challenges in their lives. In most case， Christ followers have overcome many of the hard times that they had faced. The person in today’s message， David， is one of these people. David was faced with a long period of hardship. However， he had faith in God that God had a plan and provenance for him in the end.
For these reasons， psalmists tell us that there are benefits in enduring and overcoming challenges. So， why would this be? First， hard times allow us to pray. At first， David tried to overcome his hardships with his own method and strength. But his own method lead him into more dangerous scenarios. Hence， He learned to tackle all obstacles after prayer.
Second， David's challenges taught him to embrace people with tribulations， debt， and vengeance. As these people came to David; instead of turning away， he embraced. In the end these people returned the favor and were by David's side when he needed them. These reasons prove to us that through challenges come benefits. I bless that you all have faith in this， and like David become a person that embraces all and tackles challenges with prayer.
2017. 07. 23 - 고난은 유익을 가져다 줍니다 (삼상 23:1-4)
모든 사람들은 크고 작은 고난들을 겪게 됩니다. 그런데 대부분의 신앙의 사람들은 고난을 이겨낸 사람들입니다. 오늘 본문에 나오는 다윗도 그 중의 한 사람입니다. 다윗도 오랜 세월동안 고난의 세월을 보냈지만 고난 속에서도 하나님께서 자기를 향한 아름다운 섭리와 계획이 있는 것을 믿고 꿋꿋하게 믿음으로 이겨나갔던 인물입니다.
이런 이유 때문에 시편 기자는 고난이 내게 유익이라고 말한 것입니다. 그러면 왜 고난이 유익이 될까요? 첫째는 고난은 기도를 가르쳐주기 때문입니다. 다윗도 한 때 인간적인 방법으로 행동했다가 크게 위기를 겪었는데 그 이후에는 모든 것을 기도한 후에 일을 처리했습니다.
둘째는 고난은 포용을 가르쳐주기 때문입니다. 그래서 다윗은 환란당한 자와 빚 진자들과 마음이 원통한자들이 자기에게 몰려와도 거부하지 않았습니다. 오히려 그들을 포용하고 그들의 상처를 싸매어 주었더니 나중에 그들은 다윗을 돕는 용사들이 되었습니다. 이런 두 가지 이유 때문에 고난은 유익을 가져다준다는 것입니다. 이런 사실을 믿으시고 다윗처럼 기도의 사람과 포용의 사람이 다 되시기를 주님의 이름으로 축원드립니다.
